The upcoming match between Turkmenistan’s Arkadag and Saudi Arabia’s Al-Nassr on February 11, held as part of the AFC Champions League Two, will be a celebration for the people. This was stated by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, during a visit to the capital’s Olympic Village, the venue for the game.
"The victory of the Arkadag team, which has achieved great success on the international stage in recent years, would be a tremendous achievement for our country. If the players draw, it will be, as the saying goes, a matter of chance. Even if the Turkmen athletes concede, the match will still be a true celebration for our people—attended by foreign guests—as well as an incentive for new achievements," said the Hero-Arkadag.
After a detailed inspection of the stadium’s infrastructure, including the condition of the pitch and the spectator stands, the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty emphasized that the optimal resolution of all current issues is a priority task.
The National Leader of the Turkmen people also stressed the importance of ensuring high-level media coverage for the upcoming international match, which is just 10 days away. He highlighted the need for a proper advertising campaign and the creation of all necessary conditions for the effective work of foreign media. In this regard, a number of recommendations were issued to the relevant officials.
