The transport policy of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the initiatives of the head of state in the field of sustainable transport create a vector of global development in the transport and logistics sector.

At the 70th plenary meeting of the 77th session of the UN General Assembly, on the initiative of Ashgabat, unanimously, with the co-authorship of 67 member countries of the Organization, a Resolution was adopted, according to which 26th of November was declared the World day of sustainable transport.

When adopting this Resolution, the UN General Assembly referred to the relevant decisions taken at the initiative of Turkmenistan in 2014, 2015, 2017 and 2021, designed to bring cooperation in the transport sector to a qualitatively new level.

The document calls on UN Member States, international, regional organizations and civil society to celebrate World Sustainable Transport Day with awareness-raising and activities aimed at increasing public knowledge about sustainable transport and promoting the development of green transport.
