Turkmenistan outlined priority areas of Central Asian countries' partnership with Germany

A meeting of the Federal Minister of Foreign Affairs of Germany with the heads of foreign policy departments of Central Asian countries took place in Berlin on February 11, 2026. The Turkmen side at the meeting was represented by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Ahmet Gurbanov.

Speaking at the plenary session of the "Central Asia – Germany" format, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan noted the significance of strengthening strategic dialogue between the countries of the region and Germany.

Special attention in the speech was given to issues of regional security. The importance of deepening political-diplomatic interaction in order to maintain stability and predictability in Central Asia and neighboring regions was emphasized.

In the economic part, it was emphasized that cooperation with Germany has significant potential. Among the priority areas identified were transport and logistics, energy, industrial production, chemical industry, mechanical engineering, medicine and pharmaceuticals, agro-industrial sector, water management complex, as well as developments in the field of information technology and artificial intelligence.

Following the meeting, the Berlin Declaration of Ministers was adopted, covering a wide range of areas of multilateral interaction and designed to give additional impetus to the development of the "Central Asia – Germany" format.
