The international scientific-practical conference "Turkmenistan – People's Republic of China: 20 years of strategic partnership in the gas sector" was held in Ashgabat. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age."

Speaking at the forum, the Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan, Guvanch Agadzhanov, noted that the start of work on the next – fourth stage of the "Galkynysh" gas field development is another clear evidence of the prosperity of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation.

It was particularly emphasized that the Turkmen-Chinese gas pipeline will undoubtedly become a modern embodiment of the Great Silk Road, which since ancient times has linked Turkmenistan with China and connected the East and the West.

"The start of work on the development of the next – fourth stage of the 'Galkynysh' gas field through the joint efforts of the 'Türkmengaz' State Concern and the China National Petroleum Corporation ('CNPC') is yet another clear testament to the prosperity of Turkmen-Chinese cooperation in the gas industry. All of this will create a solid foundation for further strengthening mutually beneficial political and economic relations between the two states and the development of fundamentally new directions of cooperation," the speaker added.
