On April 18, during a digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov discussed several important issues related to the development of the country's economic and banking systems. During the meeting, a report was heard on the measures being implemented to bring the activities of the financial sector in line with international standards. This was reported by the "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" electronic newspaper.
Vice-Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradow, who oversees the financial and economic sphere, reported on plans to audit the annual financial statements of the country's credit institutions and banks in accordance with international standards. These activities are based on the current legislation of Turkmenistan and the adopted state programs for reforming accounting and auditing.
After hearing the report, the Head of State emphasized the great importance of audits in ensuring the stability of the national banking system and its active integration into the global financial space. In this regard, the President approved the submitted proposal and instructed to consistently continue work in this direction.
Serdar Berdimuhamedov specifically noted that increasing the transparency of financial reporting of banking institutions is a crucial requirement of the times. The Vice-Prime Minister was given specific instructions to improve the operation of banks and to conduct international audits at a high quality level.
