Turkmenistan presents its position on strengthening regional stability in Antalya

A delegation of Turkmenistan headed by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov took part in the Fifth Antalya Diplomacy Forum (ADF-2026), held in the city of Antalya of the Republic of Türkiýe on April 17–18, 2026, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

In his speech at the session titled “Common Development: The Global Position of Central Asian States in the Context of the 35th Anniversary of Their Independence,” Meredov presented Turkmenistan’s position on strengthening regional stability and developing cross-border infrastructure. In particular, he highlighted efforts aimed at ensuring energy security, developing international trade corridors, and expanding Eurasian cooperation.

At the same time, the importance of the energy dimension of Turkmenistan’s foreign economic strategy was emphasized. In this context, attention was drawn to the country’s efforts to diversify energy export routes, including the implementation of the TAPI gas pipeline project, as well as the expansion of electricity exports.

Special attention was paid to Turkmenistan’s initiatives within the framework of the United Nations aimed at ensuring energy security.

It was noted that, on Turkmenistan’s initiative, the UN General Assembly adopted three resolutions dedicated to energy sustainability. At the national level, Turkmenistan is implementing these provisions, including through the already operational “Turkmenistan–China” gas pipeline, and also provides neighboring transit countries with opportunities to bring their energy resources to international markets.

The head of the foreign policy agency of Turkmenistan also emphasized the further improvement of the transport and logistics sector. It was underlined that Central Asia is an important transport hub on the East–West and North–South routes.

Particular attention was given to the need to consolidate the efforts of regional countries to ensure the effective functioning of the transport corridor connecting Asia and Europe.
