Representatives of Turkmenistan and the UN discuss cooperation in promoting a culture of peace

On April 18, 2026, on the sidelines of the 5th Antalya Diplomacy Forum, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov held a meeting with the UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations Miguel Ángel Moratinos, according to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the discussion, the parties addressed current issues of cooperation in promoting a culture of peace, intercivilizational dialogue, and mutual understanding.

The Turkmen side reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the principles of peace, trust, good-neighborliness, and equal international cooperation. It was emphasized that Turkmenistan’s status of permanent neutrality, recognized at the international level, serves as an effective tool for fostering constructive dialogue and strengthening mutual understanding on a global scale.

Turkmenistan confirmed its readiness to continue constructive dialogue and contribute to international efforts aimed at promoting a culture of peaceful coexistence.
