On April 20, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a working meeting via digital media with Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangryguly Atahallyyev and regional governors. The meeting addressed issues related to the country's agro-industrial sector and the work being carried out in the regions, according to the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden age."
The governors of the Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary regions reported on the progress of seasonal agricultural campaigns in the regions.
As reported, in order to achieve a bountiful wheat harvest, soil fertilization with mineral fertilizers and irrigation are currently underway. Cotton sowing continues in the regions, and irrigation is being carried out on the sown areas.
To successfully implement the approved cocoon production plan, silkworm breeders are currently tending to the cocoon husks. Due to the warming weather, plowing and fire prevention measures are being carried out in pastures, mountainous, forested areas, and flat areas of the regions.
The governors also reported on the progress of work planned for this year in the velayats in accordance with the country's socio-economic development programs.
After hearing the reports, the head of state emphasized the work being carried out on the country's agricultural lands and emphasized the importance of completing cotton sowing within the established deadlines and caring for wheat and other food crops using a scientifically sound approach, ordering that these issues be kept under close scrutiny.
Due to the warming weather, the President of Turkmenistan ordered strict adherence to fire safety regulations to prevent fires in forest areas, pastures, and cultivated areas across the country.
