An equestrian marathon was held in the Ak bugdaý etrap of Ahal velayat on April 21. This event, timed to coincide with the National Day of Turkmen Horse, added to the calendar of significant events for the year «Independent neutral Turkmenistan − the homeland of purposeful winged horses». This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden age".

The competition complemented the celebrations that took place across the country in the lead-up to the holiday.
