President Serdar Berdimuhamedov once again put forward Turkmenistan's initiatives to establish regional centers for climate technologies and for combating desertification. It was noted that these structures would serve as an important tool for preventing environmental risks in the region and exchanging experience with national institutions. Furthermore, it was proposed to implement "green" growth principles across all economic sectors and to strengthen cooperation in this field with international organizations, primarily the UN.
Turkmenistan's clear position on the use of transboundary water resources was expressed. The President noted that water issues must be resolved based on international norms, taking into account the interests of all parties and with the participation of the UN. In this regard, the proposal to create a regional council on water use issues for Central Asian countries under the auspices of the UN was reiterated.
