Turkmenistan and Japan discuss expanding cooperation in artificial intelligence

On April 23, 2026, in Tokyo, the Ambassador of Turkmenistan to Japan, Atadurdy Bayramov, held a meeting with Minori Kiuchi, a member of the Japan–Turkmenistan Inter-Parliamentary Friendship Group and Japan’s Minister for Economic Growth Strategy and Social Security Reform. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

It was emphasized that the Government of Japan attaches special importance to increasing the number of Turkmen youth studying the Japanese language, as well as to the implementation of joint economic projects in Turkmenistan involving Japanese companies.

During the talks, the sides also discussed further expansion of cooperation in the development of artificial intelligence (AI) and digital transformation, scientific innovation, green technologies, education and identification of talented youth, as well as ensuring economic security and cybersecurity.
