On April 25, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in festivities held at the Ashgabat Equestrian Complex on the occasion of National Holiday of the Turkmen Horse. The celebrations included an award ceremony for winners of the international competition «Ýylyň iň owadan ahalteke bedewi» and a contest among creative workers. This was reported by the online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

Upon arrival, the President inspected the monument to the famous Akhal-Teke horse «Pyýada», installed in front of the main entrance to the complex. The Head of State was then invited to a viewing area, where he received Akhal-Teke horses as gifts in recognition of his commitment to developing the horse breeding industry and improving the living standards of the population.

On behalf of residents of Ahal, Balkan, Dashoguz, Lebap, and Mary velayats, as well as the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, President Berdimuhamedov was presented with horses named «Gözbaş», «Sumbar», «Şabat», «Jeýhun, «Marguş», «Nusaý» and «Mertebeli» respectively. On behalf of the military and law enforcement agencies, he received a horse named Gayratly.

During the award ceremony, the winner of the horse marathon was the horse Melegush, belonging to the farm of B. Ballyyev, while «Gudratly», from the President of Turkmenistan's Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex, claimed first place in the show jumping competition.

The most beautiful horse of 2026 was named Hankерwen — a palomino stallion born in 2018, descended from Hanbeglar and Okgyz, belonging to the line of the renowned Gaplan, and owned by the President of Turkmenistan's Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex. In accordance with a Presidential decree, the winner's handler received the keys to a white Toyota Fortuner, a rolling trophy, and a diploma.
