Neutrality experience and cooperation were the focus of the forum held in Turkmenistan

On May 12, a scientific-practical conference titled "Turkmenistan and International Law: Experience of Neutrality and Cooperation" was organized at the International University for the Humanities and Development. The forum was attended by heads of relevant ministries of the country, representatives of diplomatic missions and international organizations accredited in Turkmenistan, renowned foreign scientists, as well as faculty and students of the university. This was reported by the information service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the conference, the significant initiative proposed by the President of Turkmenistan at the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly was specifically discussed. In particular, it was noted that the proposal to declare 2028 the "Year of International Law" plays a vital role in strengthening global peace and security, as well as in reinforcing the foundations of the UN Charter in interstate relations.

During the event, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Mahri Bashimova delivered a speech, emphasizing that the country consistently supports the rule of international law and the principles of preventive diplomacy. Turkmenistan implements effective efforts to develop multilateral cooperation through peaceful dialogue.

The participants of the scientific-practical conference noted that declaring 2028 the "Year of International Law" would be a historic step in coordinating the efforts of the world community and improving the legal framework of international relations.
