On May 26, the international conference titled «Preserving Traditional Culture and Developing Creative Industries Based on Intangible Cultural Heritage» was held at the Alykul Osmonov National Library of the Kyrgyz Republic as part of the 20th «OYMO» International Festival. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».
The event brought change makers together, uniting more than 100 representatives of government agencies, international organizations, museum directors, researchers, artists, designers, artisans, and experts in the field of intangible cultural heritage from Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, India, Turkmenistan, and the United Kingdom.
Representing Turkmenistan online, Tajigul Kurbanova—head of a «Design Plus» national creative group under the auspices of UNESCO and a National Master of Turkmenistan—presented a report. Her speech focused on folk arts and crafts, as well as Turkmenistan's experience in passing cultural heritage down to the younger generation.
