A President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov congratulated the participants of the Culture Week in Balkan velayat on its ceremonial opening on June 22. This was reported by the online newspaper "Turkmenistan: The Golden Age."
"Culture is a spiritual heritage of the nation that is incomparable in value. That is why the advancement of culture and art has been defined by us as one of the priorities of state policy: this sphere plays a significant role in enhancing the creative potential of society.
In the current historical era, comprehensive measures are being implemented to develop vocal and musical, fine, decorative and applied, theatrical and cinematic arts. At the same time, the work being carried out encompasses the modernisation of the activities of mass media outlets, museums and libraries, cultural institutions and specialised educational establishments. A vibrant cultural programme is an attribute of celebrations marking holidays and notable dates of the national calendar, as well as opening ceremonies of newly built social facilities: inspired performances by cultural figures and masters of the arts lend a special character to the events held. In addition, theatrical productions are staged in theatres, feature films are screened in cinemas, and creative evenings are held in community centres. In short, the availability of such a wide variety of opportunities for engaging leisure clearly demonstrates the high level of organisation of cultural services for the happy people of Turkmenistan," the Head of State emphasised.
The President wished the participants of this festival of arts good health, happiness and creative success.
