High production indicators achieved in all sectors of Turkmenistan's economy

At the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers chaired by President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the outcomes of the work carried out from January to June 2026 were reviewed. During the meeting, Vice Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on the macroeconomic indicators of the national economy. During the reporting period, the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth rate stood at 6.3%, with the highest indicators achieved in the transport and communications, trade, and construction sectors. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

Minister of Finance and Economy Mammetguly Astanagulov reported on the execution of the State Budget in the first half of this year and the implementation of the National Rural Program. As noted, the revenue side of the State Budget was executed by 102,1%. In the first six months of the year, the volume of investments directed towards the development of the national economy increased by 4.3%, amounting to 16.5% of the GDP. Concurrently, wages, pensions, and student stipends were funded in a timely manner and in full.

Dovletgeldi Amanmuhammedov, Chairman of the State Committee on Statistics, reported on the fulfillment of plans and production performance by ministries and line departments. Within the six-month period, 39 billion 147.2 million cubic meters of natural gas and 4 million 129.8 thousand tons of oil were extracted nationwide. Furthermore, the production of petroleum products, construction materials, and foodstuffs increased. In agriculture, the harvest of wheat, vegetables, melons, and potatoes significantly rose compared to the same period last year.

Toyly Malikov, Chairman of the Central Bank, reported on the performance results of the country's banks and the credit policy during the first six months of 2026. During the reporting period, the balance of loans allocated by the banking system to the private sector of the economy increased by 23.6%, while mortgage loans granted to citizens for purchasing real estate in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag, as well as in the regions, grew by 17.6%.

After hearing the reports, the Head of State emphasized the importance of continuing economic reforms to further improve the living standards of the people. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov gave specific instructions to the relevant officials on maintaining the stability of the national manat exchange rate, developing the tax system, strengthening control over the efficient and targeted use of budget funds, and digitalizing banking services.
