At the expanded meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held under the chairmanship of the Esteemed President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Chairperson of the Mejlis Dunyagozel Gulmanova reported on the work done by the national parliament in January — June of the current year. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".
As noted, over the past six months, 6 Laws of Turkmenistan and 11 resolutions of the Mejlis were adopted. Relevant amendments and additions were made to the current legislation related to the protection of the rights and legitimate interests of citizens, ensuring industrial safety of production facilities, improving accounting and financial reporting, licensing of certain types of activities, highways and road activities, environmental protection, protection of aquatic biological resources, as well as to further increasing the effectiveness of migration policy.
Credentials were accepted from 5 Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of foreign states to Turkmenistan. Also, 18 meetings with representatives of parliaments of the world's countries, foreign missions in our country, and international organizations were held in the Mejlis. Deputies and specialists of the Mejlis took part in 64 training seminars organized by international organizations together with relevant ministries and departments of the country. For the purpose of exchanging experience in legislative activity, 15 foreign working visits of deputies were carried out.
The head of the national parliament noted that in accordance with the instruction of the head of state, relevant work had been carried out in the Mejlis on the draft Law of Turkmenistan "On the establishment of the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan “Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 35 ýyllygyna bagyşlanyp geçirilen dabaraly harby ýörişe gatnaşyja”". In this regard, guided by the valuable advice of our Hero-Arkadag, she submitted for the consideration of the Esteemed President the relevant Law prepared in accordance with Article 82 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan.
The head of state noted that for the purpose of strengthening the legislative and legal base of the country, a number of laws of Turkmenistan were adopted, and amendments and additions were made to many legislative acts. In this connection, the Esteemed President emphasized the importance of effectively continuing the work to strengthen and modernize the legal base.
Addressing the participants of the meeting, the Esteemed President said that the 35th anniversary jubilee of sacred Independence will be solemnly and widely celebrated in our powerful state, and for the purpose of organizing the glorious festive events at a high level, he signed the Law of Turkmenistan "On the establishment of the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan “Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 35 ýyllygyna bagyşlanyp geçirilen dabaraly harby ýörişe gatnaşyja”.
