President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov received Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov, who arrived in the country on a visit. At the beginning of the meeting, the diplomat conveyed warm greetings and best wishes from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to the Head of State, as well as to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag. The parties expressed confidence that this visit would open up new opportunities for strengthening the interstate dialogue and deepening the bilateral strategic partnership.
Special attention during the talks was paid to cooperation within the framework of authoritative international organizations, such as the UN, the CIS, and the Economic Cooperation Organization. In this context, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov highlighted the significance of the upcoming major regional forums in the «Avaza» National Tourist Zone—the next meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State, as well as the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, scheduled to be held as part of Turkmenistan's chairmanship in the Commonwealth. The parties noted that these events would serve to strengthen good-neighborliness and trust in the region.
The sides identified key sectors such as energy, transport, and logistics as priority areas of trade and economic cooperation, coordinated by the Joint Intergovernmental Commission. Furthermore, the interlocutors emphasized the importance of the centuries-old ties of friendship and spiritual community of the two peoples, confirming their commitment to further actively developing cultural and humanitarian contacts through joint cultural events.
