Turkmenistan's economy demonstrates steady growth in seven months of the year

On August 1, Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. Vice-Prime Minister Hojamyrat Geldimyradov presented a comprehensive report on the macroeconomic indicators achieved during the first seven months of the year. During the reporting period, gross domestic product growth reached 6.3 percent, while production volumes increased by 10.4 percent compared to the same period last year, as reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».

Steady growth rates were achieved across all economic sectors, including industry, construction, trade, and services. Specifically, the transport and communications sector recorded a 10.3 percent increase, the trade sector grew by 8.5 percent, and the construction industry expanded by 6.7 percent. Foreign trade turnover also grew by 9 percent, while retail trade turnover increased by 10.1 percent. Financial indicators also maintained stability, with the revenue part of the State Budget executed at 101.1 percent, and wages, pensions, and other social payments funded in a timely manner.

Furthermore, the volume of capital investments utilized through all funding sources increased by 4.7 percent. Under the National Rural Program, extensive construction work was carried out on various purpose-built facilities between January and July 2026.

After listening to the report, Head of State Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of continuously improving the performance of the economy, finance, and banking sectors. The President gave several specific instructions to the Vice-Prime Minister regarding the maintenance of sustainable GDP growth rates and the effective development of national economic sectors.
