Indicators for Turkmenistan's trade sector and private sector announced

On August 1, Dear President Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular Government meeting. Vice-Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported to the Head of State on the results of work carried out in the supervised trade, textile industry, and entrepreneurship sectors for January–July 2026. The growth rate of trade turnover for the Ministry of Trade and Foreign Economic Relations reached 106.8 percent compared to the same period last year. This was reported by the electronic newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden Age».

By sectoral agencies, a production growth rate of 105.4 percent was achieved by the Ministry of Textile Industry. Meanwhile, the growth rate of total revenue across enterprises of the "Türkmenhaly" State Association stood at 107.3 percent. During the reporting period, the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange held 169 trading sessions, registering a total of 17,898 contracts.

In the first seven months of the year, the growth rate of work performed by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry reached 119.4 percent, with 14 exhibitions and 8 conferences organized during this period. For the Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the growth rate reached 107.2 percent for agricultural and food production, and 107.1 percent for industrial production.

After listening to the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of maintaining strict control over the uninterrupted supply of food and other essential goods to the country's markets and retail outlets. The Head of State gave the Vice-Chairman relevant instructions to improve the performance of the trade complex, increase the production capacity of the private sector, and modernize the operations of the State Commodity and Raw Materials Exchange.
