The scientific and practical conference "Protection of the Caspian Sea Ecosystem: Regional Cooperation and Sustainable Development," dedicated to Caspian Sea Day, has opened in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone.

The event brought together specialized experts, environmentalists, and representatives of international organizations to discuss pressing issues regarding the protection of the body of water's unique natural environment.

At the start of the scientific and practical conference, a welcoming address from the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was read to the participants by the country's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Rashid Meredov.

Holding this conference is of key importance for developing joint solutions to protect the biodiversity of the Caspian Sea, prevent marine pollution, and adapt to climate challenges.
