On August 15, historical meetings and political consultations were held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan in Ashgabat with a delegation led by Ambassador Nazrul Islam, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of Bangladesh. During the visit, the guest held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and Deputy Minister Ahmet Gurbanov, discussing key issues of political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian cooperation between the two countries. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

During the negotiations, the diplomats confirmed the expediency of organizing high-level and top-level visits, as well as exchanging visits between foreign ministers to bring bilateral relations to a new level. The parties also noted with satisfaction the effectiveness of mutual support for initiatives aimed at ensuring peace, stability, and sustainable development within the UN and other reputable international and regional frameworks.

During the political consultations between the foreign ministries of the two countries, several draft documents were reviewed to expand the legal and contractual framework, and possibilities for intensifying inter-parliamentary ties were discussed. To boost trade and economic cooperation, agreement was reached to establish direct contact between the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Turkmenistan and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as well as to strengthen collaboration in sectors such as oil and gas, transport, agriculture, and the textile industry.

In addition, the sides paid special attention to developing ties in culture, education, and tourism, expressing strong confidence that all agreements reached in Ashgabat will be implemented in practice in the near future.
