Turkmenistan consistently pursues its foreign policy aimed at establishing a peaceful, balanced, and inclusive global system by deepening cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies. The country views the upcoming 81st session of the UN General Assembly as a crucial stage for uniting efforts in the interest of global well-being and will advance key initiatives to give a new impetus to multilateral partnership within the UN framework, as reported by the "Turkmenistan: Golden Age" electronic newspaper.

Transport diplomacy remains a priority of Turkmenistan’s foreign policy. On the country’s initiative, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution declaring 2026–2035 as the "UN Decade of Sustainable Transport." As part of this effort, Turkmenistan will continue working on the creation of the Global Atlas of Sustainable Transport Connectivity. Additionally, during the upcoming session, Turkmenistan plans to propose the establishment of a transregional transport corridor through the Caspian Sea connecting South and Central Asia with Europe, as well as the creation of an International Center for Sustainable Trade Logistics and Customs Cooperation under UN auspices.

Great importance is also attached to UN-backed projects in energy and environmental protection. A high-level forum titled "Sustainable Energy for All" is scheduled to take place during the 81st session. The Turkmen side presents constructive proposals for drafting a UN Energy Code, establishing a 10-year Global Program for the Transition to Hydrogen Energy, and jointly implementing green energy projects.

In the humanitarian dimension, special emphasis is placed on enhancing the role of women and youth in society and international peacebuilding. The Dialogue of Women of Central Asia and the Regional Youth Dialogue have become reliable platforms for collaboration. Turkmenistan aims to empower women and younger generations through the implementation of the "Women, Peace and Security" and "Youth, Peace and Security" agendas.

Turkmenistan’s active membership in numerous UN bodies, including the Economic and Social Council (for 2026–2028), the Commission for Social Development, and other entities, serves as clear evidence of its strong international standing. In the year marking the 35th anniversary of its Independence, neutral Turkmenistan continues to make concrete contributions toward fostering a culture of peace, trust, and mutual understanding.
