Preparations underway in Ashgabat for CIS Economic Council meeting

On August 28, Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov chaired a regular digital meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers. During the session, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Hojamyrat Geldimyradov reported on the preparatory work being conducted to hold the regular meeting of the Economic Council of the Commonwealth of Independent States in Ashgabat. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden age".

The meeting will serve as a platform to discuss key areas of economic cooperation among CIS member states. It is also planned to review matters related to implementing the action plan for ensuring transport security in international transit for the years 2026–2030.

The agenda will also include organizational matters regarding the scheduling of the subsequent CIS Economic Council meeting. Furthermore, in an expanded format, participants will discuss the activities of the Interstate Council for Standardization, Metrology, and Certification for 2023–2026, alongside the draft Concept for developing cooperation among member states to produce required resources for high-tech industrial sectors, accompanied by its implementation action plan.

Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan continues to foster productive cooperation with international organizations, including the Commonwealth of Independent States. The Head of State instructed the Vice-Prime Minister to ensure high-level preparations for the CIS Economic Council meeting to be hosted in Ashgabat.
