On August 28, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital system, during which a number of issues related to state affairs were considered. The floor was given to Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».
The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs reported on matters of Turkmenistan's cooperation with the United Nations. As noted, the consistent development of Turkmenistan's strategic partnership with the UN, the active promotion of the country's international initiatives, and making a worthy contribution to ensuring universal peace, prosperity, and sustainable development are among the key tasks of the foreign policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan. In this regard, it was reported that in August 2025, the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries was held at a high organizational level, jointly by Turkmenistan and the UN, in the "Avaza" national tourist zone. The hosting of this major international forum in Turkmenistan served as another clear demonstration of the country's long-standing strategic cooperation with the Community of Nations and of Turkmenistan's active role in developing solutions to regional and global issues.
The documents adopted as a result of the conference, in particular the Avaza Political Declaration and the Avaza Programme of Action for 2024–2034, formed an important international framework for ensuring the sustainable development of landlocked developing countries over the coming decade, expanding their transport and transit capabilities, promoting their more active integration into the global trading system, encouraging their digital and technological development, and enhancing their resilience to climate change. In this regard, with the aim of consistently implementing the conference's outcomes at the national level and continuing Turkmenistan's contribution, as the host country of the conference, to advancing its results internationally, a draft medium-term national "Road Map" of Turkmenistan for 2026–2030 was prepared for implementing the documents adopted at the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries.
The draft "Road Map" encompasses six main areas of measures envisaged to be carried out with the participation of relevant ministries and sectoral administrative agencies of the country. In this regard, corresponding proposals were submitted for the head of state's consideration.
Having listened to the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that Turkmenistan maintains consistent and close cooperation with the United Nations. The head of state endorsed the proposals to strengthen cooperation between the country and the UN, and instructed the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs to continue work in this direction.
