Dates fixed for wheat sowing and cotton harvesting in Turkmenistan

On August 28, during a regular digital Cabinet meeting, Vice-Prime Minister Tanryguly Atahallyev presented a detailed report to Honorable President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the seasonal work underway in the country's agricultural sector and provinces. The Head of State gave his blessing to begin wheat sowing in the provinces on September 2 and the cotton harvest on September 9. This was reported by the electronic newspaper "Turkmenistan: Golden Age".

It was noted that preparations for the sowing season are currently progressing to lay the groundwork for next year's wheat crop. Plowing, leveling, ridging, and border-making operations are ongoing across the fields. Additionally, wheat seeders and high-quality seed grain are being prepared for use. Practical seminars involving skilled farmers, experienced specialists, scientists, and machinery operators are scheduled to ensure that wheat sowing for the 2027 harvest is carried out within the set deadlines and according to agrotechnical standards.

In the provinces' cotton fields, crop care activities are in their final stage. At the same time, preparations for the cotton harvest are being intensified, with ginneries, collection points, cotton harvesters, motor transport, and other agricultural machinery being fully readied for the season. To ensure the timely gathering of the raw cotton and to conduct the harvesting campaign at a high organizational level, practical seminars with top farmers, specialists, scientists, and machinery operators will also be organized.
