Serdar Berdimuhamedov Instructs High-Level Preparation for September Celebrations Marking 35th Anniversary of Turkmenistan's Independence

On August 28, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital system, during which a number of issues related to state affairs were considered. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Bahar Seyidova reported on the Schedule of major events to be held in September of this year. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».

As emphasized in the report, over the course of the coming month it is planned to proclaim 2026 as the “Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan – Homeland of Purposeful Heavenly Horses”, as well as to hold various celebrations, exhibitions, conferences, and outreach activities dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the country's sacred independence, ceremonies summing up the results of announced creative competitions, premieres of new theatrical productions, and the final rounds of the "Pearls of Independence" competition and the "Resound, My Motherland!" television contest.

In connection with the glorious 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan's independence, ceremonies are planned for the presentation of state awards to those honored, the awarding ceremony for the winners of the President of Turkmenistan's "Golden Age of the Turkmen" competition, and a festive concert by masters of culture and art. In addition, on the occasion of the significant date, the following are envisaged: a flower-laying ceremony at the Independence Monument; a ceremony for raising the State Flag at the main flag squares of the velayats and the city of Arkadag; a ceremonial procession and concert on the square in front of the State Tribune; festive horse races at the Ashgabat Equestrian Sports Complex; and the opening ceremony of the President of Turkmenistan's modernized Akhal-Teke Equestrian Complex. In this regard, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted a relevant proposal for the head of state's consideration.

Having listened to the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov drew attention to the importance of high-level preparation for the September festive events marking the 35th anniversary of the country's independence, as well as for the ceremonies to be held in front of the State Tribune. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to properly prepare for and hold at a high level the opening ceremonies of cultural and social facilities being put into operation.
