On August 28, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital system, during which a number of issues related to state affairs were considered. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers B. Mammedov reported on preparations for the Day of Knowledge and Students' Youth, as well as for the new 2026–2027 academic year. This was reported by an online newspaper «Turkmenistan: Golden age».
In this regard, it was reported that various celebrations are planned, including at the Independence Monument, at the Berdimuhamet Annayev Arkadag City Pedagogical Secondary Vocational School, and at Secondary School No. 27 named after Berdimuhamet Annayev in the settlement of Yzgant, Gokdepe District.
The first lesson of the new academic year will be held under the theme "Independent, Permanently Neutral Turkmenistan — the Homeland of the Horse's Fast-Paced Fortune." The lessons will extensively cover the domestic and foreign policy pursued by the President of Turkmenistan, with engaging discussions on the milestones achieved by the independent Motherland over 35 years and the broad opportunities being created for the younger generation — the country's future. All first-graders across the country will be ceremonially presented with "Bilimli" laptop computers as gifts on behalf of the head of state and the Hero-Arkadag. Preparations are currently underway for the opening ceremonies of the 5,000-capacity building complex of the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Construction in Ashgabat, and the 5,000-capacity building complex of the Seyitnazar Seydi Turkmen State Pedagogical Institute in the city of Turkmenabat, Lebap velayat. For the Day of Knowledge, it is planned to ceremonially open a 960-seat secondary school and a 320-seat kindergarten in Akhal velayat, a 240-seat kindergarten in Dashoguz velayat, and two 1,000-seat secondary schools in Lebap velayat.
Having listened to the report, the head of state noted the importance of holding the events dedicated to the Day of Knowledge and Students' Youth in a well-organized manner at a high level. Serdar Berdimuhamedov instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to prepare for presenting modern computers to schoolchildren entering first grade in connection with the start of the new academic year.
Continuing his report, the Deputy Prime Minister spoke about work underway to hold a month-long campaign titled "Road Traffic Safety — the Peace of Our Lives" on compliance with traffic rules. As noted, the main purpose of these measures is to regulate traffic flow in the capital and the velayats, and to raise awareness among pedestrians and drivers regarding traffic rules. In this regard, a relevant proposal was submitted for the head of state's consideration.
Having listened to the report, Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that a month-long road traffic safety campaign is held in the country every September, and that this measure plays an important role in preventing road traffic accidents. The head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to organize the upcoming road traffic safety campaign in a well-organized manner.
