Telephone Conversation Between the President of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia

On September 4, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan.

The interlocutors warmly greeted each other and expressed satisfaction at the opportunity to discuss priority areas of interstate relations.

Noting that Armenia highly appreciates the successes achieved by Turkmenistan and attaches great importance to the further development of cooperation based on friendship and equality, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, taking the opportunity, conveyed sincere greetings and best wishes to the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Hero-Arkadag.

The Head of State, expressing gratitude for the kind words, noted that bilateral relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia are based on the principles of mutual trust, respect, and openness.

As was emphasized, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia successfully cooperate not only in a bilateral format, but also within the framework of international structures.

The Head of Government of the friendly country noted the important role of Turkmenistan's international initiatives aimed at ensuring universal environmental well-being, and invited President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to take part in the Summit of Leaders, which will be held in October of this year in Yerevan ahead of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP 17).

Thanking him for the invitation, the Head of State emphasized that this event will become an important milestone in environmental protection, and confirmed Turkmenistan's active participation in it.

President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted that, as part of Turkmenistan's chairmanship of the Commonwealth of Independent States this year, the Summit of Heads of State of the CIS will be held on October 9 in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone, and, taking the opportunity, once again invited Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to take part in it.

Expressing gratitude for the invitation, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that Turkmenistan's foreign policy, aimed at strengthening sustainable development in the region, enjoys broad support from the world community, and confirmed Armenia's active participation in this Summit.

The telephone conversation also included an exchange of views on current issues in the development of Turkmen-Armenian relations. In this context, the importance of further expanding bilateral cooperation in various areas was emphasized.

Concluding the telephone conversation, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, expressing confidence that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Armenia will continue to develop consistently for the common good, wished each other good health, well-being, and great success in their responsible state activities, and prosperity to the friendly peoples of the two countries.
