On September 11, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov received State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Kenji Yamada, who arrived in our country on a visit, the State News Agency of Turkmenistan reported.

Expressing gratitude to the head of state for the opportunity to meet and for the hospitality extended, Kenji Yamada noted that Japan attaches great importance to the development of multifaceted relations with Turkmenistan, and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Hero-Arkadag from Emperor of Japan Naruhito and Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi.

The State Minister emphasized the significance of the President of Turkmenistan's visits to Japan to participate in the first summit of the "Central Asia + Japan" Dialogue and in the "EXPO 2025" World Expo held in Osaka.

The guest also noted that Turkmenistan was the first to hold its National Day at the World Expo, which attracted great attention to our country from the participants of the exhibition.

Thanking the guest for the kind words, the head of state conveyed reciprocal best wishes to the leadership of Japan, expressing confidence that the outcomes of the meetings scheduled during Kenji Yamada's current visit will make a significant contribution to the development of Turkmen-Japanese economic cooperation.

As noted, friendly and mutually beneficial relations between Turkmenistan and Japan are consistently developing based on the principles of mutual respect, equality, and trust. Bilateral ties are multifaceted and encompass political-diplomatic, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres.

Speaking about the political and diplomatic domain, the President of Turkmenistan stated that high-level mutual visits conducted in recent years contribute to bringing cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

These relations are developing successfully not only on a bilateral basis, but also in a multilateral format, in particular within the framework of the "Central Asia + Japan" dialogue.

The trade and economic sphere is an important component of Turkmen-Japanese interaction, which is dynamically expanding in accordance with the national interests of both countries, relying on shared strategic goals and cooperation in high technology and investment.

Turkmenistan has accumulated positive experience of effective partnership with leading Japanese companies in implementing major projects in the transport, gas-chemical, and agro-industrial sectors.

Noting that our country highly values Japan's rich experience in innovative technologies and modern engineering solutions, the head of state stressed the presence of favorable conditions and opportunities for developing mutually beneficial partnership and expressed interest in its further expansion in the fields of economy, trade, and industry.

At the conclusion of the meeting, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan Kenji Yamada expressed confidence that the traditional friendly Turkmen-Japanese relations and effective cooperation will continue to develop in the interests of both countries and peoples, and exchanged best wishes.
