A meeting was held in Astana between Oguljennet Berdiliyeva, Chairperson of the National Center of Trade Unions of Turkmenistan, and Satybaldy Dauletalin, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, as reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

The parties discussed pressing issues of bilateral cooperation regarding the protection of workers' labor, social, and economic rights, the development of social partnerships, occupational health and safety, trade union education, and knowledge exchange.

A key outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation aimed at further strengthening ties between the trade union organizations of both nations, expanding professional contacts, and implementing joint initiatives.

As part of the visit, an international round table titled "Strengthening Social Dialogue and the Role of Trade Unions in Ensuring Decent Work: The Experience of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan" took place with representatives from trade union organizations of both countries and the International Labour Organization (ILO).

Special attention was given to advancing regional trade union cooperation. In this context, participants highlighted the significance of the upcoming International Forum of Trade Union Chairpersons of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, scheduled to be held in Ashgabat in November 2026, alongside an international scientific-practical conference dedicated to the role of trade unions in promoting international labor standards and sustainable development.
