A meeting of the Turkmen-Moldovan parliamentary friendship groups was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan on September 14. The meeting focused on the development of cooperation between the legislative bodies of the two countries, improving the activities of parliamentary friendship groups and establishing interaction between relevant committees. The press service of the legislative body reported on this.
During the discussions, it was noted that relations between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Moldova are developing based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and mutual benefit. It was also emphasized that, thanks to the efforts of the heads of both states, cooperation in various areas, including interparliamentary relations, is gaining new opportunities for further development.
Representatives of the Moldova-Turkmenistan parliamentary friendship group were informed about the main directions of Turkmenistan’s domestic and foreign policy based on the principles of neutrality, the activities of the Mejlis, as well as ongoing reforms in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, scientific and educational, and social spheres.
At the end of the meeting, the sides highly assessed the current level of interparliamentary cooperation and expressed their support for continuing the exchange of experience in legislation, strengthening the activities of friendship groups, and organizing mutual visits of delegations and meetings.
