On September 18, a briefing was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan dedicated to Turkmenistan's priority positions for the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and the country's cooperation with regional and international organizations. This was reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan.

Representatives of the diplomatic corps, international organizations and mass media took part in the event.

During the briefing, Turkmenistan's main approaches to pressing issues on the international and regional agenda were presented, as well as the key areas of the country's work at the 81st session of the UN General Assembly. In particular, issues of peace, security and neutrality, sustainable development and transport, energy, climate and the environment, humanitarian cooperation, international law and further interaction with the UN were outlined.

Special attention was given to the consistent promotion of Turkmenistan's policy of permanent neutrality and the development of preventive diplomacy. In this context, initiatives aimed at strengthening international trust, preventing conflicts, peacefully resolving disputes and expanding multilateral interaction under the auspices of the UN were presented.

A separate segment was devoted to international economic cooperation.

Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan informed participants about Turkmenistan's interaction with international trade and economic structures and financial institutions.

During the meeting, a number of important issues were discussed, including the advancement of Turkmenistan's process of accession to the World Trade Organization.

In the field of transport and logistics, Turkmenistan's activities in implementing the initiative on the Decade of Sustainable Transport 2026–2035 and promoting the Global Sustainable Transport Connectivity Atlas project were noted.

Issues of energy, climate resilience and environmental protection were also considered. Among the areas outlined were the development of sustainable energy connectivity, the strengthening of cooperation in the field of water resources and climate, as well as the implementation of the Caspian Environmental Initiative and work on the formation of a Special UN Programme for the Aral Sea Basin.

In the humanitarian sphere, issues of healthcare and education development, youth support, the expansion of women's role, as well as the promotion of intercultural and intercivilizational dialogue and the preservation of historical and cultural heritage were noted.

Considerable attention was paid to issues of international law and Turkmenistan's participation in the activities of UN system bodies. In particular, it was noted that, on Turkmenistan's initiative, the UN General Assembly adopted a resolution proclaiming 2028 as the International Year of Law, as well as the country's participation in the elected bodies of the UN system.

In conclusion, an exchange of views took place with the briefing participants on the pressing issues raised during the briefing.
