On September 18, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via digital system, at which a number of state matters were reviewed.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Nokerguly Atagulyyev reported on the progress of preparations for the 14th meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation, scheduled to be held in the city of Moscow (Russian Federation). This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

As reported, the agenda envisages consideration of opportunities for developing bilateral trade and economic relations, and strengthening cooperation in such areas as the fuel and energy sector, transport and communications, industry, agriculture, the financial and banking sector, customs, and digital technologies. In addition, it is planned to discuss ways of expanding partnership in the fields of education, science, healthcare, culture, sport, environmental protection, the state cadastre, as well as at the level of business circles.

In this connection, the Deputy Prime Minister submitted a corresponding proposal for the head of state's consideration.

Having heard the report, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted that the Russian Federation is one of Turkmenistan's close partners, with which friendly relations have been established. Emphasizing the importance of proper preparation for the upcoming meeting of the Turkmen-Russian Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation and approving the proposed composition of the Commission on the Turkmen side, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to carry out the corresponding work.
