On September 18, a ceremonial conference was held at the Institute of International Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan to mark the conferral of the title of «Honorary Doctor of Political Science» from Sungkyunkwan University in the Republic of Korea upon the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The event was attended by leaders and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the Academy of Sciences of Turkmenistan; rectors and faculty members of Turkmenistan’s higher education institutions; scientists; diplomats; media representatives; and students.

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Turkmenistan and Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov delivered a speech at the conference.

The head of Turkmenistan’s foreign ministry emphasized that the conferral of the title of «Honorary Doctor of Political Science» by Sungkyunkwan University in the Republic of Korea is a testament to the recognition of the outstanding achievements of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, his immense personal contribution to the country’s development—including its political system, economy, and social sphere—and to enhancing Turkmenistan’s role and influence on the international stage.

Speakers at the conference unanimously noted the significant contribution of Arkadagly Hero-Serdar to strengthening international cooperation, deepening mutual understanding, and expanding cultural and humanitarian ties with countries around the world.

The significance of this event was emphasized in terms of further deepening the partnership between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea in such important areas as science, education, digitalization, and the training of highly qualified personnel.

During the ceremonial conference, a thematic exhibition was also held, showcasing Turkmenistan’s achievements in the fields of science and education and in the development of friendly international relations.

In conclusion, the participants adopted an Appeal addressed to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, expressing their gratitude for his efforts to strengthen the country’s international standing, advance science and education, and expand fruitful cooperation with foreign partners.
