On September 18, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held, via digital system, a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers, at which a number of issues of state life were considered.

Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs Rashid Meredov, reported on the outcomes of the state visit of the President of Turkmenistan to the Republic of Korea and the first "Central Asia–Republic of Korea" Summit. This was reported by the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

As reported, one of the key aspects of the foreign policy of the Fatherland, implemented under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, is the development of bilateral and multifaceted relations, mutually beneficial partnership with the states of the Asia-Pacific region. In this regard, the Republic of Korea and the "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" cooperation format are illustrative.

As is known, during the period of September 14–16, 2026, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a state visit to the friendly country and took part in the first "Central Asia–Republic of Korea" Summit.

The activity of Hero-Arkadag over many years for the comprehensive development of Turkmen-Korean cooperation is today successfully continued under the leadership of the head of Turkmenistan.

The state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov to the Republic of Korea was filled with events covering the political, trade-economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres. In particular, high-level negotiations were held between the heads of the two states, as well as meetings with the Speaker of the National Assembly and the Prime Minister of the friendly country.

During the visit, at Sungkyunkwan University, in recognition of the scientific-political experience, as well as the special contribution of the head of Turkmenistan to strengthening solid ties between the higher education institutions of the two countries, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was awarded the title of "Honorary Doctor of Political Science" of this University.

Regarding trade and economic partnership, it was noted that with the participation of the head of Turkmenistan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Korea, a Turkmen-Korean Business Forum was held. More than 100 representatives took part in its work from the Turkmen side, and about 90 from the Korean side. During the forum, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov was presented with a Certificate of Honor and a special document for his contribution to strengthening friendly relations and overall development between Turkmenistan and the Republic of Korea from the Korea International Trade Association.

Following the forum, a number of bilateral documents were signed between state and private structures.

Days of Culture of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Korea were held in the cities of Gwangju and Seoul.

Following the state visit of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, 44 documents were signed.

Along with this, during the visit, 31 meetings took place between members of the governmental delegation of Turkmenistan and high-ranking officials of the Government, companies, and other institutions of the Republic of Korea.

Speaking about multilateral cooperation, the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs noted that during the visit, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov took part in the first "Central Asia–Republic of Korea" Summit, putting forward a number of initiatives aimed at the comprehensive and effective development of the activities of this structure, established in 2007.

Within the framework of the political Summit, the first "Central Asia–Republic of Korea" Business Summit was also held.

In addition, ahead of the Summit, meetings were held at the level of ministers of the Central Asian countries and the Republic of Korea in such areas as industry, artificial intelligence, science and technology, forestry, and combating climate change.

Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the recently held state visit to the Republic of Korea and the first "Central Asia – Republic of Korea" Summit are of special significance in strengthening Turkmen-Korean relations. In this regard, the head of state instructed the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs to further develop cooperation with the Republic of Korea.
