An international scientific and practical forum titled “The 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Turkmenistan: New Horizons of Turkmen-Tajik Friendship and Deepened Strategic Partnership” was held in Dushanbe on September 21. The important event was organized by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in the Republic of Tajikistan jointly with the Center for Strategic Studies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan. The press service of the Embassy reported on the event.

Representatives of state institutions of the two countries, scientific and educational organizations, diplomatic missions, public associations, as well as experts and specialists took part in the forum. The participants exchanged views on the current state of friendly relations between Turkmenistan and Tajikistan, priority areas of cooperation and prospects for further development.

The speakers emphasized the special importance of the centuries-old relations of friendship and brotherhood between the Turkmen and Tajik peoples, as well as the principles of good-neighborliness. The participants noted the consistent development of strategic cooperation between the two countries in political and diplomatic, trade and economic, scientific and educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

The forum highlighted the important role of interstate dialogue, high-level visits and contacts at various levels in further strengthening bilateral cooperation. Proposals were also presented on new areas for expanding cooperation between the two states.

As part of the event, a thematic exhibition prepared by the Embassy of Turkmenistan in Tajikistan was organized. The exhibition featured works by the National Leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, as well as publications highlighting the achievements of modern Turkmenistan and the country’s historical and cultural heritage.

A photo exhibition dedicated to the Akhal-Teke horses, a national symbol and pride of the Turkmen people, attracted great interest among the participants and guests. The photographs showcased the beauty, elegance and unique role of Turkmen horses in the historical and cultural life of the nation. The Akhal-Teke horses were presented as an integral part of the centuries-old traditions and national heritage of Turkmenistan.
