On September 25, at the «Oguz han» Palace Complex of the President of Turkmenistan, a ceremony was held to award the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 35 ýyllygyna bagyşlanyp geçirilen dabaraly harby ýörişe gatnaşyja».

At the beginning of the celebration, the head of the national parliament, Dunyagozel Gulmanova, read out the Resolution of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan.

As was noted, under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, in the Epoch of Revival of the New Era of a Powerful State, our people with great enthusiasm and labor achievements solemnly celebrate the glorious 35th anniversary of the sacred Independence of the Motherland. In accordance with the Military Doctrine of a defensive nature of independent, permanently neutral Turkmenistan, committed in international relations to the principles of permanent neutrality, peacefulness, benevolence, humanity, and considering the development of mutually beneficial and equal cooperation with the states and peoples of the world as a priority, the defense capability and material-technical base of the Armed Forces of our country are being consistently strengthened. At the same time, it was emphasized that as a result of the large-scale military transformations being carried out in Turkmenistan, the service and living conditions of the defenders of the Motherland and members of their families are being thoroughly renewed, and all opportunities are being created for their fruitful service.

The conscientious service of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov to his people and Fatherland, his fidelity to sacred duty, his wise instructions on the defense of the Motherland, are a model to emulate in raising the military-patriotic sentiments of our citizens, especially the youth, and in educating them as spiritually rich individuals with a developed and healthy worldview.

Taking into account his great services in strengthening and defending State Independence, enhancing the country's defense capability, ensuring the security of the Motherland and its citizens, law and order, strengthening stability and peace on the planet through historical initiatives based on the principles of permanent neutrality of Turkmenistan and enhancing its international authority, his enormous personal contribution to raising servicemen in the spirit of love and loyalty to the Fatherland, courage, honesty, many years of conscientious labor, and on the basis of proposals received from people's representatives, major public associations, labor collectives and citizens of our country, in accordance with Article 81 of the Constitution of Turkmenistan, and also on the occasion of the glorious 35th anniversary of the sacred Independence of the Fatherland, the President Serdar Berdimuhamedov is awarded the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 35 ýyllygyna bagyşlanyp geçirilen dabaraly harby ýörişe gatnaşyja».

Then, in a solemn atmosphere, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, was presented with the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 35 ýyllygyna bagyşlanyp geçirilen dabaraly harby ýörişe gatnaşyja».

The Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Rashid Meredov, on behalf of the members of the Government, cordially congratulated Arkadagly Hero-Serdar on the state award and the glorious 35th anniversary of the Fatherland's Independence, and wished him strong health, longevity, and further success in his activities for the wellbeing of the Motherland and the people.

As was emphasized, under the wise leadership of the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is successfully implementing the initiatives of the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, in the Epoch of Revival of the New Era of a Powerful State, our Fatherland marks the significant holiday of sacred Independence with great celebrations and labor achievements. Over 35 years of sovereignty, great deeds have been accomplished.

Then the Secretary of the State Security Council, Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyyev, on behalf of the personnel of the military and law enforcement bodies, cordially congratulated the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on the presentation of the jubilee medal of Turkmenistan «Türkmenistanyň Garaşsyzlygynyň 35 ýyllygyna bagyşlanyp geçirilen dabaraly harby ýörişe gatnaşyja» and on the Fatherland's Independence holiday.

As was noted, the tasks defined in the country's Military Doctrine, which is strictly defensive in nature and fully corresponds to the peaceful foreign policy of neutral Turkmenistan, are being successfully fulfilled. In this regard, great importance is attached to the modernization and strengthening of the material-technical and scientific-educational base of the National Army. The activities carried out in this direction contribute to enhancing the professionalism of the defenders of the Motherland and strengthening the defense capability of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan.

Having thanked everyone for their congratulations, Arkadagly Hero-Serdar noted that he perceives the presentation of the jubilee medal on the occasion of the 35th anniversary of sacred Independence as an award to our people.

At the conclusion of the ceremony, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, once again cordially congratulating everyone on the significant 35th anniversary of sacred independence, wished everyone great success in their work for the further prosperity of the native Fatherland.
