The President of Turkmenistan, Honourable Serdar Berdimuhamedov, on October 2, at the meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held via the digital system, heard a report on the results of work carried out in the transport and communications complex during January — September 2026. Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Batyr Annayev informed the Head of State about the achieved indicators in the structures under his supervision, reports the State News Agency of Turkmenistan.

During the reporting period, the growth rate of completed works and provided services in the transport and communications complex reached 114.7 percent compared with the same period of the previous year. The growth indicator for cargo transportation by all types of transport amounted to 108 percent, while the growth rate of passenger transportation was 102 percent.

High results were also achieved in the sectoral structures during the respective period. In particular, the growth rate of services in the Ministry of Railway Transport amounted to 107.4 percent, in the Ministry of Automobile Transport — 115.8 percent, in the state service “Türkmenhowaýollary” — 121.8 percent, in the State Service of Maritime and River Transport — 105 percent, and in the Ministry of Communications — 115.3 percent.

Summing up the report, the President of Turkmenistan noted the importance of further improving the activities of the transport and communications complex and implementing necessary measures to increase the volume of passenger and freight transportation. The Head of State also instructed to carry out relevant work to enhance the capacity of the railway system.
