On October 3, the President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the country's Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a meeting of the State Security Council to review the work accomplished by military and law enforcement agencies during the first nine months of the year. The agenda also addressed maintaining security and stability in Independent Turkmenistan, strengthening the material and technical infrastructure of security agencies, and further improving their operations.
The floor was first given to the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyyev. On behalf of the personnel of the country's military and law enforcement agencies, he once again expressed sincere gratitude to the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov for the awards presented to the heads and staff of security agencies in honor of the anniversary of sacred Independence. The Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense wished Arkadagly Hero-Serdar and the Hero-Arkadag robust health, long life, and continued success in their state activities for the benefit of the native people.
Subsequently, the Secretary of the State Security Council and Minister of Defense of Turkmenistan Begench Gundogdyyev reported on the results of the work carried out during the first nine months of the year.
As reported, measures were taken during this period to successfully implement the Program for the Development of the Armed Forces of Turkmenistan and to strengthen the state's defense capabilities. In addition, information was presented regarding the ongoing process of discharging conscripts to the reserve and the upcoming military draft, as well as the results of the ceremonial military parade dedicated to the 35th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s sacred Independence.
After hearing the report, the Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized the importance of consistently upgrading the material and technical infrastructure of the National Army in accordance with the defensive Military Doctrine.
At the same time, the Head of State instructed that the progress of the conscription campaign and the discharge of personnel to the reserve be kept under constant supervision.
Subsequently, the heads of Turkmenistan’s military and law enforcement agencies presented reports on the work carried out over the first nine months of the year within their respective structures, the fulfillment of previously issued instructions, and measures being taken to improve the operations of these agencies.
Summarizing the reports, the President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov ordered the continued implementation of effective measures to ensure the country's security and protect its national interests.
Addressing the members of the State Security Council, the President of Turkmenistan and Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Army General Serdar Berdimuhamedov, noted that — in accordance with Turkmenistan’s strictly defensive Military Doctrine — measures are being taken to maintain the security and territorial integrity of the independent, neutral Motherland at a high level, strengthen its defense capabilities, and improve the living and social conditions of the Motherland’s defenders and their families. In this regard, the Head of State stated that activities in this area would continue.
A number of other issues were also reviewed at the meeting of the State Security Council of Turkmenistan, and appropriate decisions were adopted.
