On October 3, a meeting was held at the Mejlis of Turkmenistan to review the outcomes of the work carried out between January and September of this year. During the meeting, participants discussed the implementation of tasks set by the Head of State at Cabinet of Ministers meetings regarding the consolidation of the legal framework for large-scale socio-economic reforms in the country, and outlined future steps. This was reported by the press service of the legislative body.
It was highlighted that significant work was accomplished during the reporting period to modernize national legislation. During this timeframe, new Laws of Turkmenistan were enacted, including "On the Establishment of the Jubilee Medal of Turkmenistan 'Participant of the Ceremonial Military Parade Dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of Independence of Turkmenistan'" and "On the State Protection of Akhal-Teke Horses in Turkmenistan." Additionally, relevant amendments and additions were introduced into existing laws concerning the protection of citizens' rights, industrial safety, accounting and financial reporting, licensing of specific activities, highways, environmental protection, aquatic biological resources, and enhancing the effectiveness of migration policy.
The work carried out to expand inter-parliamentary cooperation was also highly commended at the meeting. Meetings and training seminars held with representatives of foreign parliaments and diplomatic missions in our country, as well as official visits abroad, proved vital for exchanging experience in legislative affairs. Furthermore, preparations for upcoming international events scheduled for October in the "Avaza" National Tourist Zone were addressed.
In conclusion, the deputies assured that they would make every effort to explain the core meaning of the strategic tasks set by the National Leader of the Turkmen People, Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan Hero-Arkadag, and Esteemed President Arkadagly Hero Serdar at the session of the Halk Maslahaty to the general public, while continuing to refine national legislation in line with modern demands.
