Today, a telephone conversation took place between the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
The Head of the Turkmen State sincerely congratulated President Vladimir Putin on his birthday and wished him good health, happiness and well-being, as well as great success in his state activities for the benefit of the people of Russia. The President of Turkmenistan expressed sincere gratitude to the President of the Russian Federation for his personal attention and comprehensive support for the development of Turkmen-Russian relations.
The President of the Russian Federation, in turn, expressed gratitude for the congratulations and noted that relations between the two countries are based on the principles of equality, mutual respect and good-neighborliness. Vladimir Putin also noted the great contribution of the Head of Turkmenistan to strengthening interstate dialogue and, taking the opportunity, conveyed warm greetings and best wishes to Hero-Arkadag Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
During the telephone conversation, it was noted that the development of strategic cooperation with the Russian Federation remains one of the main directions of Turkmenistan's foreign policy. The traditionally friendly relations between the two countries are based on the principles of centuries-old friendship, trust and mutual understanding.
Over the years of cooperation, extensive experience has been accumulated in all areas and high results have been achieved.
Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation cooperate closely across a wide range of areas, primarily in the political-diplomatic, trade-economic and cultural-humanitarian spheres. Our countries maintain a regular and effective dialogue at the highest state level, as well as active intergovernmental and interdepartmental cooperation.
In addition, Turkmenistan and the Russian Federation successfully interact within international organizations such as the UN and the CIS. In this regard, the Head of the Turkmen State noted that tomorrow's meeting with Vladimir Putin in the Avaza National Tourist Zone will provide an opportunity to exchange views on important issues of the bilateral agenda.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also emphasized that the heads of the two countries will take part in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State and the Caspian Environmental Summit, expressing confidence that the upcoming meetings will further strengthen effective dialogue within the CIS and make a significant contribution to ensuring the environmental stability of the Caspian region.
