On October 7, the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) took place in the National Tourist Zone «Awaza». The meeting served as an effective platform for analyzing the level of interstate cooperation achieved and for defining priority areas for its development with a long-term perspective in mind. The meeting was held in a trusting and constructive atmosphere, demonstrating the solidarity and historical commonality of the CIS countries.
The heads of the foreign policy agencies emphasized the high level of mutual trust and the commitment of the Commonwealth states to deepening multi-vector partnership. As noted, the CIS format remains an effective mechanism of interaction, helping to coordinate positions on a wide range of issues. During the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further consolidate efforts in the interests of sustainable economic development.
Special attention was paid to preparations for the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. The foreign ministers considered a set of issues on the agenda of the upcoming Summit, expressing confidence that the decisions adopted there will give a powerful impetus to integration processes across the Commonwealth.
The participants of the meeting highly appreciated the efforts of the CIS countries to strengthen an atmosphere of mutual respect and good-neighborliness. Gratitude was expressed to the Turkmen side for the high organizational standard of the meeting and the conditions created for fruitful work.
Following the meeting, a number of documents were signed. Among them: the Protocol Decision on holding the next meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers; the Decision on declaring 2029 the CIS Year of Transport Interconnectivity of the Commonwealth, adopted on the initiative of Turkmenistan; the Decision on the draft Action Plan for holding and preparing for the CIS Year of Legal Education in 2027; and the Decision on the Plan of multi-level political consultations between the ministries of foreign affairs of the CIS member states.
Thus, the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Member States of the Commonwealth of Independent States demonstrated the commitment of the participating countries to further strengthening constructive dialogue and multifaceted strategic partnership. Its outcomes became yet another confirmation of the readiness of the Commonwealth countries to jointly address the tasks set in the interests of common well-being and prosperity.
