On October 8, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov met with President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov, who arrived in Turkmenistan on a visit to take part in high-level events in the Avaza National Tourist Zone.
Warmly welcoming the Kyrgyz leader, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov thanked him for accepting the invitation to visit our country to take part in the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as in the meeting of the CIS Council of Heads of State. The participation of the Kyrgyz Republic in such important international events is of particular significance.
As President Serdar Berdimuhamedov noted, Turkmenistan highly values President Sadyr Japarov’s personal attention to expanding regional cooperation. The meetings held in Avaza provide an opportunity for a constructive exchange of views, the development of joint approaches and the identification of new areas of cooperation. In this regard, the Head of State expressed firm confidence that the Kyrgyz leader’s current visit would help further strengthen friendly relations between Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
Thanking his hosts for the warm welcome and the opportunity to discuss key issues of interstate cooperation, the distinguished guest stressed the significance of the major international events taking place in Turkmenistan. President Sadyr Japarov also congratulated President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the successful holding of the Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. In addition, the President of the Kyrgyz Republic noted the significant contribution of the National Leader of the Turkmen people to expanding regional cooperation and took the opportunity to convey warm greetings to the Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty of Turkmenistan.
It was emphasized that Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic are bound by strong ties of brotherhood, good-neighborliness and mutual understanding. The firm political will and commitment of both sides to trust-based dialogue serve as a solid foundation for the successful development of interstate partnership.
“Our countries, maintaining a constructive political dialogue, actively cooperate within international organizations, primarily the UN and the CIS, as well as other reputable bodies,” said the Head of State. President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also noted that he warmly recalls his visit to the Kyrgyz Republic in July this year to take part in the informal Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and the Republic of Azerbaijan in Cholpon-Ata. In this connection, the Turkmen leader once again thanked President Sadyr Japarov for the warm welcome on Kyrgyz soil and stressed that the meeting gave impetus to the consistent expansion of partnership.
It was noted that trade and economics is one of the key components of interstate cooperation. Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic have sufficient potential to increase mutual trade and investment and to implement joint projects in various sectors. Energy, transport, the oil and gas industry, and agriculture are promising areas today for stepping up mutually beneficial cooperation.
President Serdar Berdimuhamedov also stressed the importance of further promoting direct business contacts between entrepreneurs of the two countries and implementing joint economic projects.
Noting the special role of the cultural and humanitarian sphere in developing bilateral cooperation, the Head of State emphasized that fruitful interaction in this area helps strengthen the traditionally friendly relations between the Turkmen and Kyrgyz peoples.
In conclusion, expressing confidence in the further strengthening of constructive interstate dialogue, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov and President Sadyr Japarov exchanged wishes of good health, well-being and success in their responsible state activities, as well as progress and prosperity to the peoples of Turkmenistan and the Kyrgyz Republic.
