On October 21, the 311th meeting of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held at the ECO Secretariat. The ECO Secretariat expressed particular gratitude to Turkmenistan for its agreement to host the next meeting of transport ministers of ECO member states in 2027, as well as for the active participation of the Turkmen side in the work of the Organization.

During the meeting, a number of topical issues were discussed, including preparations for the 5th meeting of interior ministers of ECO member states, to be held on October 29–30 in Islamabad; the 30th meeting of the ECO Council of Ministers, scheduled for November 15–16 in Islamabad; and the 18th ECO Summit, to be held in December in Tehran.

The Council also discussed the completion of work on the draft documents “Strategic Objectives for Economic Cooperation – 2035” and the “Islamabad Communiqué”. In addition, other issues of mutual interest were considered.
