On October 31, President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov held a regular meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers via the digital system, at which a number of issues of state life were considered.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Tangrygulу Atakhallyev reported on the state of affairs in the agricultural sector and the progress of seasonal campaigns in the velayats, as well as on preparations for the nationwide tree-planting campaign and the Harvest Festival.
As reported, sowing of winter wheat is currently continuing. On the areas sown with grain, irrigation and feeding with mineral fertilizers are being carried out. Along with this, relevant work is under way on cotton picking, receiving the harvest at the harmans (threshing grounds), and processing raw cotton at cotton-ginning enterprises.
Information was also presented on preparations for holding the nationwide tree-planting campaign in November of this year in the cities of Ashgabat and Arkadag and in the velayats. This event is being organized in accordance with the Resolution of the Head of State “On Planting Saplings in Turkmenistan in 2026,” as well as with the aim of turning the country into a blooming land, creating forest zones and providing proper care for the planted saplings, and successfully implementing the National Forestry Program.
It was also reported that every year on the second Sunday of November the Harvest Festival is widely celebrated in the country in honor of the fertile Turkmen land. In this connection, measures are being taken to hold festive events in Ashgabat and the velayats at a high organizational level on November 8.
Having heard the report, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the agricultural sector should continue to be developed comprehensively, and that the pace of winter wheat sowing and the cotton harvesting campaign should be increased. The Head of State also instructed the Deputy Prime Minister to prepare properly and ensure a high organizational level of the nationwide sapling-planting campaign and the events on the occasion of the Harvest Festival.
