On November 4, the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov made a working trip to Dashoguz velayat, during which he took part in the groundbreaking ceremonies for the Ashgabat–Dashoguz motorway, an enterprise for the production of vegetable oil designed to process 60 thousand tons of technical cottonseed per year, and a new nitrogen fertilizer production complex in Garashsyzlyk etrap. The Head of State also gave his blessing, via a live digital link, to the opening of the Garabogaz–border zone section of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan motorway. This became a wonderful festive gift for the Day of Workers of the Construction and Industrial Complex, widely celebrated in our country, as well as vivid confirmation that, under the leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, who successfully carries out the creative undertakings of Hero-Arkadag, such noble deeds as the building of bridges and the laying of roads are finding a worthy continuation.

Speaking at the ceremony marking the groundbreaking and commissioning of the new facilities, Arkadagly Hero Serdar noted that groundbreaking ceremonies for several significant facilities are being held in Dashoguz velayat, namely: the Ashgabat–Dashoguz motorway, an oil extraction enterprise for processing technical cottonseed, and a new nitrogen fertilizer production complex. In addition, in Balkan velayat, the Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border section of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border motorway is being commissioned, said President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, warmly congratulating everyone on these wonderful events.

As the Head of State emphasized, our wise ancestors considered the building of roads and bridges a significant undertaking, which subsequently grew into a noble tradition. Today in Turkmenistan, the heart of the Great Silk Road, this tradition has received a worthy continuation. New highways and bridges are being built consistently in our country, and the road network is being substantially modernized. All of this work is the result of successfully implemented large-scale programs: the Program “Revival of a New Era of the Powerful State: National Program of Socio-Economic Development of Turkmenistan for 2022–2052” and the Program of Socio-Economic Development of the Country for 2022–2028.

Thus, continued the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov, today the construction of the Ashgabat–Dashoguz motorway begins, which is intended to become a key link of the prospective North–South transport corridor. The construction of this motorway, which will connect the northern region of Turkmenistan with the capital, will make it possible to increase transport and transit potential and ensure the safety of transport communication, as well as significantly increase the volumes of trade turnover and of freight and passenger flows between neighboring states.

Along the motorway, with a total length of about 550 kilometers, all conditions will be created for passengers and drivers, and modern digitally controlled monitoring devices and equipment will be installed. A new road bridge 812 meters long will be built along the route, and the 9 existing ones will be fully modernized.

Speaking about this, the Head of State also noted that last year the foundation was laid for the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border highway. And today its 44-kilometer section, Garabogaz–border zone, is being commissioned. This road and transport infrastructure, which is part of the international North–South transport corridor, will become a key link of internationally significant transport routes.

On the same day, in Garashsyzlyk etrap of Dashoguz velayat, the foundation was also laid for a modern vegetable oil production enterprise with an annual processing capacity of 60 thousand tons of technical cottonseed. Advanced equipment from international companies with solid experience in this field will be installed at the production facility. Such equipment will allow the enterprise to operate in accordance with international standards and to produce high-quality vegetable-based oil. And with its launch, all conditions will be created here for the work of about 250 people, emphasized the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov.

The Head of State also noted that Turkmenistan attaches particular importance to the innovative development of national industry. To this end, the “National Strategy of Industrial Development of Turkmenistan for 2030–2045” was recently adopted. At present, export-oriented production facilities are actively developing in the Fatherland, and the range and volumes of high-quality products are also increasing.

One of the key sectors of the national economy is the chemical industry, for whose modernization significant measures are being taken: large capital investments are being mobilized, large-scale projects are being implemented, and modern technologies are being widely introduced into production processes, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov said, continuing the topic. At present, the structure of the sector effectively includes several powerful enterprises that focus primarily on the use of local raw materials.

The new chemical facility, whose foundation is being laid today in Dashoguz velayat, is also one of the large investment projects. Advanced technological solutions from leading companies of Europe and Asia will be introduced at this complex, which will ensure that production processes comply with environmental standards, the Head of State noted.

The facility is designed to produce 350 thousand tons of urea and 350 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate per year. Thus, the capacity of the complex will make it possible to fully meet the needs of our agricultural producers as well as to supply fertilizers for export. In addition, more than a thousand new jobs will appear here. Many of the future specialists have studied at foreign universities, and the necessary conditions have been created for their work. Overall, the construction of the modern nitrogen fertilizer production complex will be a serious contribution to the development of the national chemical industry in the long term.

Noting that Turkmenistan is successfully implementing the program of socio-economic development of the regions, including Dashoguz velayat, where powerful industrial enterprises and social facilities are being steadily built and commissioned, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov emphasized that the course toward the development of all regions of the Fatherland will continue in the future.

Concluding his speech, the Head of State once again congratulated everyone on the current wonderful events of the year “Independent Neutral Turkmenistan – the Homeland of Purposeful Winged Steeds”: on the groundbreaking of the Ashgabat–Dashoguz motorway, the enterprise for processing technical cottonseed and producing vegetable oil, and the new nitrogen fertilizer production complex, as well as on the commissioning of the Garabogaz–border zone section of the road, and wished everyone good health, family well-being and great success in their work.

It was emphasized that, on the basis of the initiatives of Hero-Arkadag and under the far-sighted leadership of Arkadagly Hero Serdar, our Fatherland has become a land of friendship and brotherhood, a bridge of peace. The solemn opening and commissioning today of the Garabogaz–border zone section of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border road, whose foundation was laid last year with the blessing of the Head of State, is a landmark event that will be inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Motherland, which follows the path of progress with the swiftness of a steed. This highway will become a road of friendship which, connecting not only two neighboring states but also regions, will contribute to increasing trade turnover and developing transport and passenger communication.

In this regard, A. Begjanov appealed to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov with a request to give the start to the commissioning of the Garabogaz–border zone road.

The total length of the Garabogaz–border zone section of the Turkmenbashi–Garabogaz–Kazakhstan border motorway, which is an important component of the international North–South transport corridor, is 44 kilometers. The carriageway of this modern road, with a subgrade width of 27.5 meters, consists of two directions, each 9 meters wide. To ensure safety and optimize traffic, a median strip 3.5 meters wide and shoulders 3 meters wide on each side are provided.

The construction of the highway was carried out in accordance with international standards. Its main carriageway consists of two layers of coarse-grained gravel-sand mixture 20 centimeters thick, a fine-grained gravel mixture 10 centimeters thick, and layers of hot asphalt concrete: porous, 8 centimeters thick; coarse-grained, 7 centimeters thick; and dense fine-grained, 5 centimeters thick, on top of a layer of soil and geotextile. On the median strip, a layer of crushed gravel mixture 15 centimeters thick and a layer of hot fine-grained asphalt concrete 10 centimeters thick have been laid on top of the soil, which ensures the stability of the road infrastructure.

The total length of the motorway, which will begin at the “Oguz han” fountain complex, an adornment of our capital, is 546 kilometers.

To ensure stable high-speed traffic, the road is divided into four sections and will be built on the basis of advanced technical and economic indicators. The subgrade width of the first section, that is, from the zero marker to the 9th kilometer, is 65 meters. This section includes 8 lanes. Pedestrian paths in both directions, green areas and shoulders are provided here.

The width of the roadbed on the sections of the motorway from the 9th to the 48th and from the 527th to the 546th kilometer is 34 meters, and the road here includes 6 traffic lanes. On the section between the 48th and 527th kilometers, the width of the road is 26.5 meters, and the road is divided into 4 traffic lanes. Along the motorway, all conditions are provided for the convenience of passengers and drivers.

In addition, the project provides for the modernization of 9 existing bridges, as well as the construction in the Nayzalydepiz lowland of a two-lane road bridge 812 meters long and 25 meters wide, with 2-kilometer access roads leading to it. Along the road there will be 136 modern comfortable bus stops and 13 parking areas. In addition, to ensure uninterrupted and safe traffic, 7 road traffic supervision posts of the police will be built, and modern video surveillance and speed control systems will be installed.

Then, at the request of representatives of the younger generation, the Head of State made a commemorative inscription on the occasion of the groundbreaking of the new motorway.

Next, an animated video was shown, giving a visual idea of the oil extraction enterprise with an annual processing capacity of 60 thousand tons of technical cottonseed, which will be built in Garashsyzlyk etrap of Dashoguz velayat.

The production facility, with a total area of 122 thousand 500 square meters, is designed to receive 600 tons of raw material per day. At the first stage, the incoming raw material undergoes laboratory testing at the enterprise and is stored in raw material warehouses. The pressing shop is designed to process 200 tons of raw material per day. The crude oil coming from this shop is sent to the refining shop for purification and quality improvement of the product. The capacity of this shop makes it possible to refine 50 tons of crude oil per day.

The high-quality, environmentally friendly oil produced at the enterprise will be sent to the bottling and packaging shop. Advanced world technologies will be introduced here, which will make it possible to produce a total of about 9 million bottles of oil with a volume of 1 liter per year. The new industrial facility will make a great contribution to ensuring an abundance of goods on the domestic market, strengthening the country’s food security and developing the domestic processing sector.

Then the President of Turkmenistan made a commemorative inscription concerning the future enterprise for processing technical cottonseed and producing vegetable oil.

At the solemn ceremony of laying the foundation of the new complex for the production of 350 thousand tons of urea and 350 thousand tons of ammonium nitrate per year in the territory of Garashsyzlyk etrap, the floor was given to the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the “Çalik Holding” group of companies, Ahmet Çalık.

After greeting those present, the businessman emphasized that, thanks to the comprehensive transformations begun by Hero-Arkadag and continuing under the leadership of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, Turkmenistan is confidently advancing along the path of sustainable development, achieving great successes in all spheres.

As noted, on the basis of the long-term goals of the economic strategy, consistent work is being carried out in our country to attract large investments aimed at the further development of the chemical industry, the expansion of its production capacities and the strengthening of its position in the national economy.

In accordance with sector programs, the active introduction of the best international experience and scientific and technical achievements into the industry is gaining great importance. In this context, strengthening the potential of the chemical industry through increased output of competitive products with high added value and the efficient use of natural wealth and local raw material resources has been defined among the priority vectors.

As part of the successful implementation of these programs, Turkmenistan pays particular attention to ensuring the sustainable development of the chemical industry through the use of advanced technologies and innovations, as well as the intensification of the exchange of experience and knowledge.

Emphasizing the importance of President Serdar Berdimuhamedov’s participation in today’s celebration, Ahmet Çalık expressed to the Head of State and to Hero-Arkadag sincere gratitude for the trust placed in the company he leads in carrying out the construction of the new enterprise, which will serve the further dynamic economic development of the country and the growth of its industrial potential. The businessman also assured that the construction company “GAP İnşaat,” in cooperation with the German company “Thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH,” will build this facility in strict accordance with international standards and implement the project on the basis of innovative and environmentally friendly solutions.

Then the Executive Director of the German Eastern Business Association (Ost-Ausschuss), Michael Harms, spoke. Noting that it is a great honor for him to take part in such an important event taking place in Dashoguz velayat, the guest, on behalf of the Committee he leads, expressed deep gratitude to Hero-Arkadag, who laid a solid foundation for the economic potential and modern industrial development of Turkmenistan, and to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov, who is successfully continuing these large-scale transformations.

As emphasized, during the years of independence Turkmenistan has carried out close cooperation with Germany. The industrial complex in Dashoguz velayat will use the world-renowned technologies of the company “Thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH” for the production of ammonia, urea and ammonium nitrate. These advanced solutions ensure the most efficient use of resources and the production of high-quality fertilizers to meet the needs of the domestic market.

Noting the significance of this important industrial project, Michael Harms once again expressed to the President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and the National Leader of the Turkmen people Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov his gratitude for the start of the facility’s construction.

It was emphasized that the most advanced engineering and technological solutions of the company “Thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH” will be applied at this modern enterprise, whose construction project is being implemented with the support of the Head of State. These innovations contribute to energy and resource saving, thereby increasing production efficiency and reducing the impact on the environment.

Noting that the construction of a large production complex of great importance for the development of Turkmenistan’s industrial sector is beginning today, Nadia Håkansson confirmed the readiness of the company “Thyssenkrupp Uhde GmbH” to provide its advanced technologies and engineering expertise to ensure the successful implementation of this project.

The main raw material for the production of the above-mentioned products is natural gas, whose annual consumption is preliminarily projected at 630 million cubic meters.

The project will use the technologies of leading world companies, and power supply will be provided by built-in turbogenerators. The mineral fertilizers based on urea and ammonium nitrate produced at the new enterprise will be intended to fully meet the needs of domestic consumers in our country. In addition, it is planned to supply a significant part of the urea produced here abroad, which will serve to increase the export potential of the Fatherland.

It is expected that more than 1,000 new jobs will be created at the complex, which will create opportunities for raising the employment level of the population of Dashoguz velayat.
