Today, the President of Turkmenistan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the country Serdar Berdimuhamedov received the naval parade in the Caspian Sea by visiting the “Garshy” military unit of the Naval Forces located in the western region.

Behind it sailed the main strike forces of the Navy - the “Edermen” and “Gayratly” missile boats, equipped with the most modern weapons and designed to destroy enemy surface and low-flying air targets, disable the enemy landing group and ensure reliable protection of the state from the sea.
They were followed by the 60-meter tug and supply ship of the Naval Forces “Eserden”, which is used to supply fuel, drinking water, food and other means, equipment, and in rescue operations and providing assistance to the personnel of the crew of ships that have suffered disaster.
Patrol vessels of various classes continued the parade on the water. These ships serve to conduct combat with enemy underwater, surface and air targets, and also to carry out search and rescue operations. Besides that, reliably guarding the maritime borders of Turkmenistan, they are used for reconnaissance and surveillance of ships.
During the parade, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country was also presented with the “Umman” hydrographic ship, which is designed to ensure the safety of ships in the Turkmen part of the Caspian Sea and carry out hydrographic and oceanographic work. Among its main functions are also bathymetric measurements in the sea, the study of the relief of the seabed, underwater video and photo recording, and the study of the composition of water.
Then proceeded the tugboats of the Naval Forces “Gujurly” and “Zarply” of the State Border Service, used for rescue operations at sea, extinguishing fires, transporting non-self-propelled vessels and supporting their maneuvers.

The “Asuda” hydrographic vessel, which is used to study the relief of the sea depths, measure the depth of the seabed and collect underwater data, became a participant in this review. It should be noted that with the opening of the shipbuilding and ship repair enterprise of the Ministry of Defense of Turkmenistan in 2015 on the initiative of ex-President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, this ship began to explore the seabed.
It was followed by three border patrol boats of the “TG-12 Bars” project of the State Border Service. These vessels are used for patrol and search and reconnaissance purposes in inland waters.

Like any country with access to the sea, Turkmenistan has warships to protect the borders on the water and ensure peace and tranquility. It should be noted that these ships participated in the solemn military parade held in the fall of 2021 in honor of the significant anniversary of Turkmenistan - the 30th anniversary of sacred independence.
Having noted with satisfaction the high level of the review of the national fleet in the Caspian Sea, President Serdar Berdimuhamedov stressed that the state would continue to pay special attention to strengthening the material and technical base of the Navy, improving the professionalism of military sailors, and ensuring the reliability and inviolability of maritime borders.
“The sacred duty of the servicemen of this type of troops is to solve the tasks outlined in the defensive Military Doctrine,” said the head of Turkmenistan.
Having expressed firm confidence that the officers and sailors of the Naval Forces will honorably fulfill the responsible and noble mission entrusted to them, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of the country addressed a number of specific instructions to the heads of law enforcement agencies.
A comprehensive basis for the formation of a powerful Navy in the western region of the Motherland was laid by the ex-President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.
At present time, the material and technical base of the Navy is being steadily modernized both through the purchase of the most modern technology, equipment and ships, and the construction of its own ships, and the combat and theoretical training of military sailors is being increased. Measures are being taken to systematically improve the conditions for their service, and life.
