On January 27, 2026, a regular session of the Council of Permanent Representatives of the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Tehran. The meeting focused on the implementation of activities outlined in the Avaz Action Program for 2024–2034.
In particular, the Organization proposed a project for the implementation of the Program’s third priority area – “Transit, Transport, and Connectivity” in the ECO region. This proposal, as well as the organization of meetings for its implementation, was supported by the Council.
The Ambassador of Turkmenistan, Permanent Representative to ECO Ilyas Gayypov, expressed gratitude to the ECO Secretariat and representatives of member states for supporting this initiative and conveyed confidence in the active participation of all parties in its implementation.
Additionally, participants were presented with information on the work carried out by the Organization regarding the “Avaza Program of Action for 2024–2034 and the ECO Region” within the framework of the Third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, as well as on the planned steps for the upcoming period.
