On February 16, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Turkmenistan to Saudi Arabia, Muhammetgeldi Ayazov, presented his credentials to OIC Secretary-General Hissein Brahim Taha as the country’s Permanent Representative to this authoritative international organization.
The Secretary-General emphasized Turkmenistan’s special role in the Islamic world. According to him, the policy of permanent neutrality pursued by Ashgabat today serves as an effective instrument for strengthening peace and trust not only in the region but across the entire Organization.
As the Permanent Representative noted, Turkmenistan intends to expand its contribution to the activities of the OIC, particularly in the fields of culture, education, and economic cooperation.
